Sharing the Arts...

Mending Hearts Charities, Inc. was formed in 2000 to provide safe, affordable housing to low income families in the Holden Heights neighborhood.

In 2003, Mending Hearts realized that the youth of our community had very little opportunities available to them. Concerned with lower grades and high drop out rates, we decided to create  a program called Sharing the Arts.
 

Programs...

We provide several programs, including:

• dance

• drug education classes

• theatre

• art

• after school tutoring

• Bible study

This program will provide an enormous opportunity for our youth and it will allow them the opportunity to become strong, independent adults with a bright future.

The Safe House...

Because of the families income limitations, these programs are offered free of charge. We started last summer in an empty garage without electricity and a leaky roof. We are currently remodeling our 2000 sq.ft. Safe House which will be the new home of Sharing the Arts.

The Safe House is being renovated by volunteers with charitable funds as they become available.
